Rebekah K. Pullen

Rebekah K. Pullen is a PhD Candidate in International Relations at McMaster University. She completed her MA in Global Governance at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, and her research focuses on political theories of violence, weapons in Critical Security Studies (CSS), and Popular Culture and World Politics (PCWP). She is a Fellow with the 2025 Atomic Anxiety in the New Nuclear Age Fellows Scheme (atomicanxiety.com) and the Social Media Editor for the journal Critical Studies on Security (@csosjournal).

Liam Midzain-Gobin

Associate Professor, Political Science, Brock University


Liam Midzain-Gobin is a settler scholar, and Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Brock University. His research focuses on how settler colonialism has persisted into today, and how Indigenous peoples are revitalising their own governance practices to undermine it. Dr. Midzain-Gobin is author of Settler Colonial Sovereignty: Visions of Improvement and Indigenous Erasure (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2025), with other work in Millennium: Journal of International Studies and Security Dialogue, among other journals. Dr. Midzain-Gobin is also Associate Editor with Critical Studies on Security.

Veronica Kitchen

Veronica M. Kitchen is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Waterloo and in the Balsillie School of International Affairs. Her research is primarily on national security in a Canadian context, from the perspective of critical and feminist security studies. Her most recent book is Heroism and Global Politics (Routledge, 2018), co-edited with Jennifer Mathers.


Kitchen is an executive member of the Canadian Network for Research on Terrorism, Security and Society (TSAS) and in 2018-2019 was its Acting Director. She is an active member of Women in International Security (WIIS) Canada, and part of the editorial board of International Journal.
